COURSE TITLE: INTRODUCTION TO INSURANCE 1

 

CREDIT HOURS: 30 HOURS

 

Goal: To expose students to classes of insurance, insurable interest, Utmost good faith, risk and risk management.

 

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

On completion of this module the students should be able to:

1.0       Understand Insurance

2.0       Understand classes of insurance

3.0       Understand types of Non-Insurance

4.0       Know the concepts of utmost good faith and its operation

5.0       Understand insurable interest and its operations

6.0       Know the concept of indemnity and its operation.

7.0       Know the concept of proximate clause and its operations

 

8.0       Understand risk and risk management

 

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE:

1. FIRST TEST                                10 MARKS

2. SECOND TEST                           10 MARKS

3. THIRD TEST                               10 MARKS

4. TEN QUIZ                                    10 MARKS

5. TEN ASSIGNMENTS                 10 MARKS

     TOTAL MARKS                       50 MARKS

 

YOUR CONTINOUS ASSESSMENT = YOUR TOTAL SCORE    X  40 MARKS

NOTICE:

CONTINOUS ASSESSMENT  =  40 %

EXAMINATION                       =  60 %
